Frequently Asked Questions

We have answers below to a number of frequently asked client questions

What is an accreditation?

Accreditation is the process in which certification of competency, authority, or credibility is presented by meeting the standards set by an awarding body. An accreditation officially recognises your business as having a particular status or being competent to perform a particular activity.

Why become accredited?

Being accredited allows you to improve your professional image and increase the amount of work you can bid for and win – in turn improving your business. An accreditation will demonstrate your health and safety performance; showing that you’re compliant within your industry and create more new business opportunities.

Why use us?

beAccredited has supported hundreds of companies just like your's through the accreditation process. We provide the highest level of support required at an unbeatable price to get you on your way to winning more work.

Will you help with RAMs?

Absolutely our team have fantastic knowledge of Risk Assessments and Method Statements powered by www.rams-app.co.uk we use the intelligent software to deliver a professional project specific document.

I'm not sure which accreditation would be best for me, can you advise?

Yes, of course we can. Our team of expert consultants are on hand to help you through every stage of the process – including decision making. In order to gain the optimum level of value from your accreditation, we suggest that you look at what your clients are looking for within their pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQ’s) – You may find certain clients require a specific accreditation and it may be more beneficial to work towards this. You can always add more in future.

Do you provide everything I require for my assessment?

We provide all of the documentation that is required.

As a responsible employer, we would expect you to have liability insurance in place and asbestos awareness training certificates for your staff. If you work on a building developed before 2000, these are a legal requirement. If not, we have links with insurance companies that can provide you with liability insurance should your's have expired. We can help with asbestos awareness training by means of our e-learning packages should you need these as well.

What if I fail the assessment?

You won’t fail the assessment, we guarantee that. Assessors may on occasion ask to see a very specific document but do not worry, we will deal with all of this for you and you can start to use it in your company moving forward

What if I've already started the assessment?

If you have already started the assessment process and have given up, we will gladly take over and manage the process on your behalf – all we will require are your log in details and we can then review and complete as required.

How long does the process take?

The time frame for each application varies depending on the awarding body. What we can say is that you can be assured that our work will be completed as quickly as possible. Sometimes the accreditation process may take a little longer due to the time it takes for an assessor to review your application. If time is of the essence, Safe Contractor offer a fast-track service which will allow your application to be assessed in just a couple of days (depending on which fast track service you use).

Why are the accrediting bodies fees' not included in your prices?

We don’t include the accreditation fees charged by the awarding scheme as they are variable. CHAS and Safe Contractor fees increase depending on how many employees you have (CHAS also charge more for Principal Contractor accreditation), whereas Constructionline charge based on your annual turnover, or projected turnover if you’re in your first year of trading.

beAccredited’s prices remain fixed despite your turnover or number of employees – Our prices are transparent and we don’t want you to be misled. We will happily calculate the total cost of the application on your behalf during your discussion with one of our consultants.
